Platform LivingRoom is pleased to announce for the season 2022 /2023 the OPEN CALL “INTUITION” for the program “ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCIES”.
We are now accepting submissions. Entries need to be submitted through filling the form.
Three artists will be selected and receive an artist fee & a production budget & an one-day show. Submissions run from May 22rd until June 20th 00:00h, 2022.

INTUITION
Intuition is commonly understood as an ability to know something without tangible evidence. It is a feeling that guides a person to act without fully understanding why. Science claims that most of the time we behave intuitively, without knowing consciously why we do things we do.
Through observation, one intuitively notices patterns that unconsciously turn into embodied knowledge, which bypasses the intellect and reasoning. Artists and scientists work with their feelings in different ways, but both from a dark and murky place in their minds, filled with memories, fantasies and desire. All mixed serving as a mass database, to set goals, to make a snap judgment, to give guidance to the body to initiate and act, to create and discover more than the intellect have foreseen.
For the 2022/2023 season, the main theme of the program is ‘Intuition’. Through this open call, we search for creators whose research revolves around “Intuition” and we will host three rounds of one-week artists-in-residencies in 2022-2023 year, to pay respect to the intuitive impulse that is very difficult to describe in words. We want to rebalance subconscious wisdom and go against the grain by calling on artists to openly and generously embrace their intuition.
HOW TO APPLY?
Who can apply:
- Emerging artists and artists duo (preferably Netherlands-based)
- Whose artistic research and their submitted project relates to “Intuition”
- With an interest of exhibiting works in an informal approach
- Preferably base in the Netherlands
What we will provide with:
- Accommodation: a guest room to stay and the living room to work and exhibit
- Budget: artist’s fee (250 euros) and reimbursement for production costs (max 200 euros)
- Publicity: advertising on social media and through our growing professional network, documentation of process, outcomes and exhibitions
- Publication: writings related to the final work or the written research outcomes will be published on the Platform LR website
- Production: a friendly hand
